The "seamless" lace dress I made in school 2 weeks ago. There is also a bias cut silk charmeuse slip underneath it. We had to do the seams by applique, cutting out around the motif and laying the seams on top of each other, then cutting away the underlay. It was incredibly tedious, and this cotton crochet lace was probably not the best lace to try this method with, but it looked cute in the end. I was happy with it. Buttons and loops down the back, I had to make the button loops and a nifty little binding/facing technique I made up. hooray!
You are going to notice a trend in my school work this semester... very girly and antique looking. Dress by me! Sept 2008 |
